Women Veterans United Committee, Inc.
Presents: A Special Baby Shower with Dr. Joanne Fisher
Dr. Joanne Fisher is a dedicated advocate for Women Veterans United Committee, Inc., passionately addressing the unique challenges faced by women veterans who often do not receive the same opportunities as their male counterparts.
In addition to her work on equity, Dr. Fisher is a vocal champion for the mental health of all veterans, advocating for greater awareness, access, and support for those experiencing conditions such as PTSD, Military Sexual Trauma (MST), and other service-related mental health disorders.
Ms. Robin Walker-Salas recognizes the critical lack of support available to incarcerated veterans. Driven by this reality, she has become a passionate advocate for those who served their country but now face the challenges of the criminal justice system. Whether it involves seeking legal representation or connecting veterans with essential resources, Ms. Walker-Salas believes that those who defended our democracy deserve to retain the benefits earned through their service.
While many Americans enjoy the freedoms secured by these men and women, incarcerated veterans often face stigma and a growing chorus of opposition—individuals who question whether they deserve continued support. Ms. Walker-Salas stands firmly in the belief that service to this nation should never be forgotten, especially in moments of greatest need.
